Art Sighting

I have seen these babyfaces on the news but didn't look up where they are in hopes of finding them in the wild.
Happily, I found these two on my daily commute.
It took a while for the traffic to be just right for this picture.

I love these and want to do something similar someday.  I wonder what medium is used and how they are attached?   They remind me of the Toynbee tiles.

Cardboard Sunflowers

We have been in Colorado for two years now. Something that makes me think of home is sunflowers. It is a favorite symbol and I guess what I am trying to say is I miss Kansas... but not enough to go back.

Run You Clever Boy and Tag

Being the Whovian I am I was inspired to make a little something. Souffle take time, patience and in my experience some cooking genius.

1560 Selfies

My family loves to collect history. It is a favorite pass time at most gathers to pull out the binders and the tubes of photos and documents.  My Grandmother pulled out her boot box full of photos and we found this gem. Selfies are for everyone!

Meet Aurora

I came home for the 4th of July and my mother surprised me with this little ball of energy.

She is half pug and mini aussie.

What's the Stich

So I have been dabbling with plushies to quench my desire to create sculptures and feed my addiction to fabric.  Like with quilting I enjoying either making up my own patterns or trying to figure out how to make quilts I have seen.  It's all about the problem solving and figuring out how things work.  Sometimes I do use patterns but mostly to learn techniques.  One of my first plushie I used a pattern from We Lived Happily Ever After.   I had it's difficulties but I learned a lot about making different plains simply and in the end my cousin was happy for new pal.

I am still trying more patterns from this site but with additions to make it my own.
I hope to post more learning experiences soon!

Sick-o

A month or so ago I was deathly ill... Ok, it was a cold but it felt like death.  While laying in bed I had medical masks on the brain and decided to look at some patterns.  After I found the perfect fabric I made this bad boy.

I am in love with this and am thinking about adapting the pattern for a beard pattern.
